What do You Think?
Karl Marx said that religion is the opium of the people. Friedrich Nietzsche said that Christianity and democracy are for the "weak herd" of humanity, and argued that the will for power would sanctify people more than striving for heavenly reward. These ideologies assume Christianity is weak and sterile. How would you frame an argument against such charges?
Why do you think Russian generals would react differently from the rest of the country, when they said it would be hard to change after seventy years of believing a lie? At the same time, the general population enthusiastically embraced spiritual change. What could we learn from this that would help us in our own situation?
What are the rewards of a life lived in devotion to Christ?
How can we help our children and others understand these rewards?
